My handsome stepson brought his gorgeous girlfriend for a visit and I got them into studio for a magazine style photoshoot!

I love to photograph high school seniors! They are no longer little girls, and not yet women. Here are some of the brilliant beauties I’ve recently photographed for their senior portraits.

New York City museums are filled with sculpture that fill me with awe, many of them are hundreds of years old. The celebration of the human body inspires me and informs my work.

Photographing beauties in faraway lands, what a fantasy job!  Although it would have been a treat to travel abroad, we stayed local and I am grateful for having met these two incredible women.

A fantastic group of women came to the studio last night to celebrate friendship, fun, and being a WOMAN!

I created this image was created with a piece of chiffon, a fan and an assistant. When I showed it to a friend who is a dancer, she said through a gasp, THIS is how I want to be photographed.

The great Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh says, “Be Beautiful, Be Yourself”. and a little bit of makeup can do wonders in a photograph! (that part is mine).

Relocating to a suburb of NYC last year and starting my portrait business over again has been an amazing journey. Here are some of the wonderful people I met and photographed .

Looking at the beauties in these photos, you’d think I was hanging out models!  The wonderful thing is, they are all photographers who specialize in making other women look gorgeous in photos.

In her book Goddesses Never Age, Dr. Christiane Northrup says that aging is optional and has a lot to do with mindset. Her advice is to treat yourself like the goddess you are, and even describes how her glamour photoshoot was a transformational experience. I’d have to agree!

Michelle and her sweet daughter came to my studio recently, and together we captured these moments that will be passed down for generations to come.

After writing a testimonial about the groundbreaking photography workshop 28 Days with Sue Bryce, and sharing it on social media, I was the selected as the lucky winner of a trip to LA to spend the day with Sue Bryce at her portrait studio.

This image is titled “No Fear” and is an expression of how I want to approach my portrait business, and my life for that matter, each and every day.

I try to enter photo contests as often as I can muster the courage, which doesn’t happen as often as it should. This year I entered the Glamour Photowalk 2014 which was sponsored by Lori and Photo Communiqué, and I was one of the winners!

In the south of France is a hamlet called Plum Village where a group of Buddhist monks and nuns live and practice the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. My twin sister and I made a pilgrimage to Plum Village, which shaped the rest of my life and marked the beginning of my mindfulness practice.
