Mother and Daughter Photoshoot

I have few regrets in life, but one of them is not having gone to a professional photographer to have a portrait made of me and my mother, just the two of us.  I have photos of us together at my wedding, but in a way, that was my day, not our day.  And I have lots of beautiful candid shots of us, which of course I cherish.

But to share a day of pampering together with your mother, or your daughter, (or both if you’re blessed to have both in your life) and then have beautiful portraits to remember the day, this is a present worth giving to yourself (or asking for on Mother’s Day).

Michelle and her sweet daughter came to my studio recently, and together we captured these moments that will be passed down for generations to come.

This is what Michelle said about her experience:

“My daughter and I relished the special time we spent having our portraits made with Maryanne and her crew! It was a memorable way to honor our special mother-daughter relationship and we cherish the beautiful photographs that resulted.

I went into the session with some trepidation because, though my daughter always looks great in photos, I am not “photogenic.” When I shared this with Maryanne, she told me that the photographer’s job is to create a beautiful photograph and that she would do just that. Having seen Maryanne’s work, I took her word for it and let her do her “magic!” The results far exceeded my expectations!

Not only do I love the results, but also I enjoyed the process! My daughter and I had fun together, choosing outfits, and having our hair and make-up professionally styled. Maryanne and her assistants were so warm and accommodating that we were very much at ease, even as the camera was in front of us, which made for very natural looking photos.

Maryanne has an artist’s eye and she is extremely detail oriented, which I think is part of what makes her work so exceptional. I treasure the portraits she created of my daughter and me together and I hope to have her make more of the two of us with my mother!”
