My daughter Anna – growing up in front of a camera lens

Sixteen years ago today, I gave birth to my darling little Anna, and immediately started photographing her.

Her kissable rosebud lips when she was a baby, her giggles in the breeze, her shyness as a toddler…

Becoming more comfortable in front of the lens, showing her playful and thoughtful sides.

Revealing her maturity and vulnerability as we relocated twice, first moving from our home in San Francisco to Kansas, then to New Jersey. Settling in as the new girl at three different middle schools, never complaining, always putting forth her best effort.

Flourishing in high school, discovering her wisdom, beauty, and strength.

And today, now sixteen, as sweet as can be, still with rosebud lips and giggles in the breeze. I love you Anna,

Happy Birthday to you!
