a woman over 50
A woman over 50 is often ignored and under-appreciated.
She may feel stuck in disapproval of herself, feeling either too fat, wrinkled, tired, broke, depressed, under-accomplished, not enough…
She may also feel powerful, valued, accomplished, and radiant…
She can feel all of these things just in one day!
We are complex and maturing, and as I age I consciously make the choice to become as delicious as a fine wine, rather than let myself slip into tart vinegar. Yes, I actually just compared myself to fine wine! That’s because,
“It’s time to replace a legacy of self-doubt with a legacy of self-celebration.”
In 2019 I took a course with Mama Gena at the School for Womanly Arts in NYC. I learned that by standing in my own sacred radiance, I open up room for you to stand in yours, beyond what you or I could imagine.
Mai is a longtime student of Mama Gena, and I was drawn immediately to her strength and grace.
It was empowering to have her in front of my camera lens. She’s a woman in her 50s, and beautifully physically fit. She sent me a Christmas card of her doing a perfect handstand on a boulder!
By standing in her radiance and physicality, she opened up room for me to stand in mine, and inspired me to return to a daily practice of exercise.
That’s what sisterhood is, we lift each other up, and I hope to be able to do this for you.
Choose radiance. Choose yourself. Because no one is going to do it for you! Although I’m here to help :)
Are you ready to celebrate being a woman 50 or over? Your first step is to learn more here!
xoxo
Maryanne
