Photos of myself: visual affirmations and reminders

One year after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I am now cancer free. YAY!

And because I am the leader of my life, I plan to live a long and healthy life!

I say affirmations a lot these days, and feel them deeply in my body. Our words shape our thoughts, and our bodies pay attention to our thoughts.

Similarly, I think of photos as visual affirmations. These photos make me feel good about myself, and so I’m sharing them publicly. Why not? They remind me of moments when I felt beautiful, powerful, brave, connected, and loved.

The photos of my wounds and scars from surgery, of me laying on the couch recovering from chemo treatment, the photos of my bald head and lashless eyes, I have those too. Those memories are no less important, and someday I may even share those too.

For now, I celebrate myself.

Thank you for reading this, and joining me in the celebration!
