My 28 Days with Sue Bryce
Being in the presence of Sue was everything I had hoped and thought it would be.
She is magnetic, wise, funny, sensual, free-spirited, and one of the most genuine people I have ever met.
When she looks at you, and speaks to you, something magical happens and you realize how special you are. Yes, that’s right, not how special SHE is, you realize how special YOU are.
And that, I think, is the essence of her power as a speaker, an educator, and a photographer. There is a simplicity and profoundness to what she does and teaches. When she holds your gaze, she connects with such genuine warmth that you naturally want to open yourself up to her.

Thank you Sue, and thank you creativeLIVE, for choosing me to be among the fortunate 50 who were at the 28 Day Challenge kickoff in Las Vegas March 2013, and once again among the 25 who were at the final day in Seattle.
You are all consummate pros at what you do. I loved watching and being part of the behind-the-scenes action. During the pre-show banter when there were problems with the broadcast sound, Kenna and Sue rolled with the punches, telling the story of their upcoming trip to Brazil at least three times, each time in a different way. This gave me insight into how Sue lives her life, unscripted and unrehearsed, natural and confident, and trusting that the present moment is truly the most important moment.
Another highlight of my creativeLIVE experience was being part of the audience for cL Spotlight in Vegas, which was the first ever, American Idol type show for professional photographers. This was a day of fun, laughter, and amazing educational content. Jasmine Star is a dynamic and quick thinking host. When Kenna asked her to give advice to the auditioning instructors, she replied, “Be you. This is my professional and personal advice. Be 100% you. I would rather have people not like you for 100 percent of who you are, than a carbon copy of who you think you should be.” Well stated, Jasmine, and here’s a cute screen shot of you mid “Amen” that I caught during the re-broadcast.

When the judges weren’t poking fun at each other, they were, in Jasmine’s words, “owning it” and giving amazingly insightful advice. George Varanakis, GM of Talent, was the Randy/Paula mix, and quite the dapper gentleman. Celeste Olds, Producer, was spot on with her critique and suggestions, as was big Russ Andes, whose analysis of the content blew me away. Who knew a gamer could be so brilliant? And Simon Bryce. Your insight and tough love is always worth twice its weight in gold.
Back in Seattle for the wrap-up of 28 days, I had a peak moment. The day flew by and we didn’t get that chance to show our work during the broadcast, so afterwards I showed a few contact sheets to Sue. Wow! Her enthusiasm took me by surprise! She looked carefully at the photos and smiled, and I could just imagine her saying, “Good gull” (in her kiwi accent).
For this shoot (see way down below) I had made it a goal to get at least 20 sellable images in two hours, something I hadn’t done before during a glamour shoot. After studying the flow posing and 1 composition/5 poses challenges very carefully, I mapped every detail of the shoot, and accomplished what I had set out to achieve.
Each challenge I take on makes me a better photographer, which builds my confidence as a business owner. Sue Bryce you have given us your all. THANK YOU, now it is our turn to DO THE WORK.
